Interior Inspo: Christmas Decor

I absolutely love decorating for Christmas, and decorating for this year brought me no less joy than any other year. In fact, I was so much more excited this year because I decided to update my theme a little bit in the spirit of making my house continuing to feel more like a home. I always decorate on Black Friday so I can avoid Black Friday crowds forever…and this always makes me so much happier than dealing with the chaos.

So this year, I went ALL IN on the whole millennial pink motif.

More like millennial pink mixed with gold and copper accents, along with glass and white textures. I also might have gone overboard on the lights this year. But who doesn’t love a bunch of fairy lights all over your house just because?

Interior Inspo: My Dining Room/Area

I moved into my condo June of 2017. Since this was a place I owned, I wanted to take my time creating a living space that felt personal to me. No more just buying furniture just to fill a room. I wanted to put much more thought behind my design choices, and truly feel like I could call this place my home.

With that being said — I’m still not done with my place. SOMEONE HELP MY INDECISIVENESS PLZZZ. Case in point: it took me well over a year (about 14 months) to finally get a dining table. But I’m so glad I waited because I couldn’t be more satisfied with the way it turned out.

I have an open space so I don’t really have a dining “room” per se, but I was able to parse out a place in my condo which I desginated my dining area. I knew I wanted a farmhouse table, but a small one. However, most farmhouse tables sit 6-8 people, and my place isn’t nearly large enough to accomodate a table that large (One day, I’ll have a place that can!)

Fortunately, one of my friends makes custom furniture, and he was able to make me a mini-farmhouse table that sits 2-4 people rather comfortably. He also built two small benches which accompany the table perfectly. He is the BEST!

The circular mirror, from The Citizenry and handcrafted in Chile, is the perfect mix of the hard and soft vibe. It has a leather strap and white marble hook giving the area some modern character and staying with my design aesthetic. Also, The Citzenry is an amazing home design website with handcrafted decor from all over the world. So chic and sophisticated with lots of unique pieces.

Even though this took over a year to do, I couldn’t be more pleased with what I ended up with. My house is finally feeling like a home, and there’s no better feeling.

Parents’ House: Guest Bathroom

For the past few months, I had been working on two pretty big home projects: my own condo and my parents’ new house. While my own condo has been mostly interior design, my parents’ house was a full gut job that needed a complete renovation.

With 3 bedrooms and 3 full baths, this house was built in the 1960s and had all the original appliances and fixtures as well as some of the most hideous wallpaper you’ve probably ever seen. However, this ranch-style home boasted an incredible view of the San Francisco Bay Area with a huge heated pool and jacuzzi to boot, just to sweeten the pot.

We’re still not completely done with the whole house, but there have been major changes already. Let’s begin with the guest bathroom. A lot of my inspiration came from the European bathrooms I had seen when I was living in London and traveling all over the continent. I loved how the European design aesthetic, especially in places like Paris and Barcelona, focused very heavily on textiles. It became a lot of my main inspiration for this bathroom.

Preview: My Mini Living Room Sanctuary

As I mentioned before, I’ve created this blog to really serve as my own creative outlet. But I also wanted to create this blog to showcase some of the things that I’ve been working on to maybe provide some inspiration for your own home or personal style.

That being said — a full blog post will come shortly where I’ll talk about my design process and how my comfy little living room came to be. But I wanted to give a tiny preview of the mini sanctuary on the coffee table of my space.
