As I mentioned before, I’ve created this blog to really serve as my own creative outlet. But I also wanted to create this blog to showcase some of the things that I’ve been working on to maybe provide some inspiration for your own home or personal style.
That being said — a full blog post will come shortly where I’ll talk about my design process and how my comfy little living room came to be. But I wanted to give a tiny preview of the mini sanctuary on the coffee table of my space.
Front and center is probably the most amazing scented candle I’ve ever smelled in my life– the Panjore Lychee candle. I found this light pink little baby at this small, independently-owned shop on College Ave. in Oakland, CA called Nathan & Co. I often visit this store once every couple of weeks because it has some of the most amazing and unique gifts you can find for your home, bedroom, gifts for loved ones, co-workers — anything really! If you’re local, please stop by and visit. You won’t regret it.
My air plant and holder was something my brother’s girlfriend gave to me as a housewarming gift. And that crystal was also a housewarming gift from my friend Roanne. I bought the mini buddha from this store called Sagrada in Temescal, and together, all these little pieces create a mini sanctuary right in the middle of my living room.
My condo isn’t that big, but I think it’s important to have dedicated spaces that make you feel relaxed and calm…away from all of the hustle and bustle of the stress of the workday. Self-care is important. Creating a little (no matter how small) sanctuary can help ease some of the many thoughts and anxieties and worries running through your head. It does for me 🙂
